The International Circus Festival of Ceará (FICC) reaches its 11th edition reaffirming its commitment to diversity, artistic circulation, and the strengthening of the circus field in Brazil and Latin America. The result of a rigorous selection process, this edition received 628 applications from different states and countries, from which 26 works were selected, including acts and full-length shows. In addition to the artists selected via the public call for submissions, the program features invited artists and groups in partnership with collaborating institutions and the municipal governments of the cities hosting the festival.

The curatorial process sought to ensure a plural, diverse, and representative snapshot of the circus in its many distinct possibilities—from traditional expressions to contemporary experiments—prioritizing proposals that engage in a dialogue with different territories, languages, and backgrounds. The result is a robust program featuring artists from six countries in Latin America and Europe—Spain, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay—reinforcing the FICC's status as a major hub for connection and circulation of the Latin circus scene in Brazil.

On a national level, the festival includes proposals from six Brazilian states (Rio Grande do Sul, Minas Gerais, Amazonas, Pernambuco, Piauí, and Ceará), highlighting the project's territorial and aesthetic breadth. Ceará, the home state of the FICC, is represented by artists from eight cities: Fortaleza, Maracanaú, Aquiraz, Paracuru, Itapipoca, Aracati, Quixeramobim, and Camocim—demonstrating the vitality and widespread reach of the circus scene in Ceará.

With a program featuring around 100 artists in over 40 performances, the festival maintains an important commitment to gender equity: 33% of the works are by male artists, 33% by female artists, and 34% by groups with mixed compositions, ensuring a balanced and diverse overview. The festival will take place from October 31 to November 15, 2025, in the cities of Fortaleza, Aquiraz, Paracuru, Itapipoca, and Canoa Quebrada (Aracati). In addition to the main circuit, the FICC organizes other networked activities in partnership with public and private cultural facilities in various municipalities across Ceará.

More than just a festival, the FICC is a space for visibility, connection, and the appreciation of circus arts—especially for the voices and practices active in communities, collectives, big tops, and streets. Its curatorial approach believes in the power of encounter, the strength of the scene, and art as a right.
